This block has an easily-accessible flat site at the top that lies beautifully to catch the best of the western sunsets and overlook the whole 12 hectares, only a stone’s throw from a big old (and very lucky) Kauri tree.
The contour slopes down to a creek that runs parallel and just inside the far boundary. Properties to the south have recently been re-planted in pines and this is a very quiet road so you’ll enjoy plenty of off-grid peace and quiet.
It is accessible from the main road entrance, with a second entrance further along. The boundary follows the ridge down to the creek. There are two lots on this title and a short (zigzag) length of paper road as a result of the road being realigned.
There is natural water here, not only the creek but also some dams/ponds higher up the block that have kept their water through the last couple of summers. The lower slopes offer a warmer micro-climate.
Location is 7km from Paparoa to the north. From Paparoa-Oakleigh Rd head west down Porter Road then immediately right onto Arcadia Road (no signpost at present). Barely used, this road meanders through native bush and farmland. After 5km, take the left fork onto Bull Road and this block is 200 metres along there on the left.
Paparoa is on State Highway 12 (the Twin Coast Discovery Route), only 120 km from Auckland Harbour Bridge. Known for its weekly Farmers Market, Paparoa has a population of about 400 and services a larger retired, lifestyle and farming population. Also known as the “Village in the Valley”, Paparoa has some interesting historic buildings, a store, café’s and a school. Settlers established this riverside town in the 1800’s as a transport hub connecting the port at Pahi with road and rail networks. The boat ramp at Pahi will always be a drawcard and the area is popular with retirees and escapees from the City.
